We are delighted to offer for sale a unique opportunity to acquire a business within the thriving village of Braemar. Wild Thistle is a successful quality gift shop in its 11th year of trading. Situated in a prominent position in the village of Braemar on Royal Deeside the shop enjoys year round trading and has achieved consistently good sales figures and year on year increases in turnover since opening. The business is easily run by one person but the present owner chooses to work part time. There is a craft room space with a pleasant outlook above the shop ideal for someone keen to create their own products for sale. The shop is being offered for sale due to retirement.
Wild Thistle specialise mainly in quality Scottish (and British) made goods. In keeping with the surroundings there is a strong ‘Country Living’ theme to the products, many crafted with natural materials such as tweed, wood, slate and silver. The website www.wildthistle.co.uk shows the contemporary style of the shop and products.
Property on 2 floors with patio to side, large outdoor store and land to rear.
The shop is a granite ‘C’ listed building on a prominent corner of the main road entering Braemar with large display windows to side and front. The Sales Area measures 10.3m at longest x 6.0m at widest. The shop comes complete with cream fitted shelving and cabinets which will all remain as will the glass topped counter and epos till system. Upstairs is a stock room (5.6m x 3.9m) to the front, central storage area and to the side a craft room/office (4.2m x 3.0m) with a double picture window facing the main road and surrounding hills.
French doors to the side lead to an enclosed courtyard sales area and to a large wooden store with windows. This area is used in the summer for the sales of plants and outdoor furniture and gifts. A rear gate leads to land behind the shop which can also be accessed from the central village car park.
Planning permission was granted in 2018 for a modern timber and glass extension which would double the shop sales area from 45.5m2 to 81m2 with 40m2 of storage and a further 8m2 for kitchen and toilet.
