Caroline has specialised in the area of Private Client law for over 21 years; providing tailored advice to individuals, families, business owners and Trustees.
Her expertise involves assessing with clients the extent of the assets they own, their family dynamics and assisting them to plan for their families and dependent persons. Such work can include the preparation of Wills, and associated Inheritance Tax advice and ensuring that clients are fully informed as to the benefits of having Powers of Attorney in place.
Caroline's approach is holistic in that to provide the best service for her clients, in regard to their personal circumstances and future objectives, it is prudent to engage with other private client specialists such as financial advisers and accountants.
She also has expertise in the creation and ongoing management of Trusts such as Discretionary, and Liferent Trusts and Trusts established for the benefit of vulnerable beneficiaries. Her work also involves the administration of estates and she has experience of dealing with complex estate work.
Caroline is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners which is the worldwide professional association for practitioners who specialise in succession planning for private clients.
Caroline is also a Postgraduate Law Tutor at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen and was instrumental in preparing and teaching to provide the first Distance Learning Diploma for Professional Legal Practice in Scotland. Caroline also has a first degree in Biomedical Science (Neuroscience).
She is also a Notary Public and is registered with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
